Weekly News Blast: This week we held the 160th Annual Meeting for the Town of Grant! Although not too many residents were in attendance, we certainly appreciate those who were there. Reports were provided by the various committees, an Annual Report of finances was available from our clerk, and both the Grand Rapids Fire Chief and United Emergency Medical Response (ambulance) owner gave detailed reports. Thanks to everyone that provided information. During the Public Hearing prior, Kathy Lee, our Plan Commission Secretary presented a well-versed PowerPoint detailing the proposed revisions to our Zoning Ordinance. There were many good questions accompanied by concerns that the Plan Commissions will take under advisement. Thank you. This week work commenced on Buena Vista Road (CTH F – 130th). Trees were cut and silt fence installed. Integrity problems continue for 95th Street over Four Mile Creek. We are still awaiting word on WisDOT grant funds for this needed fix. However, if no grant is received Portage County will likely let this out for bid as soon as possible. Keep warm in this crazy weather, Sharon
